About

Welcome to “Keys with Emily”! Mrs. Emily Thunberg grew up in a very musical family; piano, singing, and dancing were a central part of her early development. She started taking piano lessons at age four. In high school and college, she studied under Solveig Madsen (Piano Department Director; BYU and U of U).

She completed all ten levels of Achievement in Music (AIM) and performed in multiple Federation adjudications including the Concerto performance. Mrs. Thunberg received The Presidential Scholarship at Westminster College where she earned her BA and MBA

She started teaching at 16, over 20 years of experience. Emily Thunberg studied Waldorf Education at Rudolf Steiner College where she learned to dance the intervals of music in an art form called Eurythmy. Inspired by the Waldorf Philosophy, over a three-year period, she founded the Wasatch Charter School, the first Waldorf School in the state of Utah. Now she also enjoys singing, playing the 28-string lyre, and the pentatonic flute. (Waldorf recommended instruments)

Mrs. Thunberg and her husband Gus have three children. They live near Liberty Park in Salt Lake City, Utah.
